Denmark’s hydrogen gamble – is the action plan actionable?

Energinet, Denmark’s transmission system operator (TSO), is gearing up to launch a registration window for developers and end users to book connection on the country’s hydrogen pipeline next month [November 2025], a process that has the veneer of being a standard procurement procedure but, come with a host of caveats. The crutch? The pipeline doesn’t exist, the product said pipeline will carry is at very early stages of development, on an optimistic timeline, and the delivery itself is conditional upon several external factors lining up.
