Italy's €6bn renewable hydrogen CfD scheme gets Brussels clearance

The European Commission has approved a €6 billion (£5.23bn $6.96bn) Italian state aid scheme to support 200,000 tonnes of annual renewable hydrogen production via competitive contract for difference auctions, in one of the largest nationally funded hydrogen demand-pull mechanisms cleared under EU state aid rules to date.
