Essar Energy Transition (EET) has confirmed that it will make final investment decision (FID) on the first phase of its blue hydrogen mega-project in the UK “after September”. Anyone struck with the vague sense that they may have read that sentence before, rest assured, you are not alone. Joe Seifert, the chief executive of EET Hydrogen, made the same claim exactly a year ago, almost down to the day [10 April 2024] but, alas, that did not come to pass. The project in question is the 350MW Hydrogen Production Plant 1 (HPP1).
