Akereos to add Santander’s Evans to debt team, more to follow
Santander's energy and infrastructure veteran, William Evans, is set to join Akereos Capital early next month [2 March 2025].
The appointment is understood be a part of the London headquartered financial advisory firm's planned growth strategy to expand its energy transition offering.
Evans, pictured right, is an industry expert with over 20 years' experience advising on M&A, financial structuring and project finance transactions.
Most recently he was the head of debt advisory and structured finance at Santander CIB. His remit at Santander primarily included the UK, Nordics and Ireland.
His previous experience also includes prominent roles at Elgar Middleton, Macquarie and ABN AMRO.
Evans' appointment is part of Akeroes' wider growth initiative which is a response to the increased deal flow within the energy transition space in Europe, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Akeroes started off this year [2025] with several prominent changes including the promotion of the Vice President of Energy Transition Investment Banking, Jonathan London, to Head of Markets.
The company also hired Macquarie's Toby Ingram as Managing Director to its Energy Transition Investment Banking arm.
In addition, Akereos is expected to make "a couple more" prominent appoints to its debt advisory and M&A teams in the coming months.
