Shell confirms death of Dutch biofuels plant, says project is not cost competitive

Royal Dutch Shell, today [3 September 2025], confirmed that it will not restart construction on its biofuels facility in the Netherlands as a part of the O&G major’s continued strategy shift to prioritise “projects that deliver value for shareholders”.
