The opportunities and potential for onshore wind repowering in Europe with TRIG/ InfraRed

In this month’s episode of Energy Transition Today, we sit down with Minesh Shah, the managing director at InfraRed Capital Partners and Chris Sweetman, the chief operating officer at The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG)* to talk about onshore wind repowering in Europe.

Shah lays out the financial considerations for onshore wind repowering and the variables that influence TRIG’s decision to repower an asset.

Sweetman, on the other hand, lays out the technical and permitting complexities associated with repowering and debunks some of the assumptions made about the process.

We also discuss the need and opportunities for onshore wind repowering in Europe as well as the influence of policy and revenue streams on investors’ appetite for this asset class.
