After a bruising 2025 marked by failed tenders, rising costs, and policy resets, offshore wind enters 2026 with a far more constructive outlook. Across Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas, governments are preparing or have already launched auction and allocation processes that together could bring between 44GW and 58GW of capacity to market over the course of the year, a scale that would mark a clear return to momentum after a year of stagnation (16GW awarded in 2025).
