Lombardy is the Northern Italian region which hosts Milan and is the country’s economic core, accounting for 23% of Italy’s GDP. It is also, in practical terms, where Italy’s data centre market is located. 68% of national data centre power is concentrated around Milan and 414MW IT was operational in 2025. The region hosts 49 of the country's 200 data centres.
