The US is uncoupling from the global pursuit of net zero

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 at Davos highlighted a growing divergence between the US and other major economies, and nowhere is this clearer than in the energy sector. While US government officials exhibited hostility towards clean energy, China and the EU positioned themselves as aligning with net-zero goals and the deployment of more clean energy infrastructure. For investors and operators, momentum in renewables remains structurally intact, albeit increasingly shaped by geography and regulatory architecture.
