Battery storage set the pace this week, with supply agreements, debt financings and permits advancing across the Baltics, Poland and Italy as developers repositioned around capacity market contracts and auction reform. Lenders, meanwhile, crowded into solar, backing acquisitions and construction in the UK and the Netherlands, while platform capital moved at scale through a Brookfield and Mitsubishi HC Capital renewables venture and a KKR-led push into AI infrastructure. On the policy front, Brussels cleared Italy’s €23 billion (£19.9bn $26.6bn) renewables support scheme and the Crown Estate moved to bring the consented 1.5GW Morgan offshore wind site back to market.
