Monthly round-up - June 2026
3 July, 2026
The state moved back to the centre of the revenue stack in June, nowhere more visibly than in nuclear. Orlen filed for a Polish CfD covering 14 small modular reactors, Rolls-Royce won Sweden’s 1.5GW reactor mandate, and Washington set aside $17.5 billion (£13.1bn €15.3bn) for Westinghouse’s AP1000 fleet, all within a fortnight.
The frameworks widened even as their terms tightened. Germany’s onshore wind auction cleared at its lowest level in years, France launched a 10GW offshore round into that pricing environment and Polish battery deals traded on capacity contracts struck before derating factors collapsed.
Capital followed the contracts, with EDF exiting 5.6GW of North American renewables to KKR to fund its nuclear fleet and five lenders backing CIP’s Romanian wind on partial CfD cover.
