inspiratia reveals winners of inaugural Energy and Sustainability Awards 2021
After nearly two years of pandemic-induced separation, the sector reunited last night for inspiratia's glittering inaugural Energy and Sustainability Awards at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in London.
The awards brought together global industry practitioners to celebrate the achievements of pioneering companies, projects and individuals. The list of winners paints a picture of a sector that is teeming with talent, exciting deals and the ceremony closed with the presentation of our 'Remember the Name' award, which, rather than saluting a long career, highlighted an up and coming one.

Natural Power
The company has a history of offering renewable energy expertise and services, with experience at every phase of the project lifecycle.
Outstanding Financial Adviser Winner
Augusta & Co
Augusta is an independent London-based financial advisory firm focusing on the European renewable energy sector. The firm participated in deals in Europe covering the onshore wind and solar sectors.
Outstanding Lender Winner
NordLB
The German Landesbank is one of the largest commercial banks in Germany. Since 2020 and 2021, the business has participated in over 23 energy deals.
Outstanding Legal Adviser Winner
Orrick
The company is one of the largest law firms focused on serving the technology and innovation, energy infrastructure sectors. Orrick participated in over 78 deals from 2020 and 2021.
Outstanding Developer Winner
BayWa
The solar developer is one of the UK and Ireland's leading, international, renewable energy project developers and service providers. The firm participated in 20 deals across North America, Asia Pacific and Europe during the year.
Fund to Watch Winner
Q-Energy Fund IV
The fund is one of the largest renewable energy funds raised in Europe after reaching a hard cap of €1.1 billion. The investment team has been busy deploying capital in renewable energy assets in Spain, Germany, Poland and Italy.
Premier Sustainable Group Winner
Glennmont Partners
Glennmont is one of Europe's largest fund managers focusing on wind and solar investments in the UK. The company has secured $2.9 billion of investment in the wind, solar and battery storage sectors.
Top M&A Deal Winner
Statkraft-SolarCentury
Statkraft bought 100% of the shares in Solarcentury at the end of 2020 for $154.8 million. Solarcentury had a pipeline of 6GW of capacity containing solar projects based in Europe and South America that has now successfully been absorbed by Statkraft.
Top Greenfield Deal Winner
Dogger Bank A&B
The largest offshore wind project in the UK, the 3.6GW Dogger Bank is located 165km off the east coast of England in the North Sea. The project is being developed by Eni, SSE and Equinor.
New Horizon and Innovation Winner
Pexapark
Innovator, Pexapark, has supported more than 80 power purchase agreement transactions, with a volume of well over 12GW.
Remember The Name Winner
Adam Smith - Orrick
Adam started as a project finance lawyer advising on natural resources and O&G projects. Since then he has led the largest renewables project financing in Asia to date.
Top Refinancing Winner
Deutsche Bucht
The winning project is located in the German North Sea. There were 23 lenders included in the refinancing deal with SMBC, Rabobank, Santander and others being involved in the project. The deal value was $1.142 million.
The awards were a well deserved recognition of the works the winners achieved over the past year, especially in the midst of a global pandemic and the challenges it presented the infrastructure and renewables market.
