Environmental group loges complaint against Germany’s 12GW gas plan

The German Environmental Aid Association (DUH) has lodged a formal complaint against the German government’s plan to add up to 12GW of new gas fired generated to the country’s energy mix. Germany's controversial plan to build 12 new gas plants is set to approved by European Commission (EC) with the initial 8GW expected to come online as early as 2031, according to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
