EU launches "Buy European" rules for clean energy and heavy industry

The European Commission has proposed binding "Made in EU" and low-carbon requirements for public procurement and subsidies across steel, cement, batteries, solar and wind sectors, in a landmark push to rebuild European manufacturing and reduce dependence on Chinese clean technology imports.
