The collapse of one of Germany’s largest IPP Enerparc earlier this month [September 2026] has had renewables players across Europe and us in the media clutching our pearls over how unexpected it was but, as the fog starts to clear, the warning signs, that were ever present, have become harder to ignore. All those who celebrated the company’s success when it raised €1 billion in debt in May looked past the attempted sale just a few months prior and a failed debt raise process a month after [June 2026]. It may not have been as obvious or crude as GoldenPeaks but the signs were there.
