Alpiq acquires 535MW Navaleo pumped hydro project in Spain

Swiss power group Alpiq has struck a deal to acquire the 535MW Navaleo closed loop pumped hydro project in Castilla y León from Spanish developer Erbienergía, marking its first large scale hydropower investment outside Switzerland as it pushes deeper into Europe's grid flexibility market.
